In occasione della Giornata mondiale contro l’AIDS del 1 dicembre, sarebbe estremamente importante per noi concentrare le forze in un Twitter Storm diretto al nostro Presidente del Consiglio – che dovrebbe partecipare il 27 p.v. all’apertura della Conferenza di Roma “Lotta all’HIV/AIDS dieci anni dopo la Dichiarazione di Dublino”- per evidenziare il ruolo che la Tassa sulle Transazioni Finanziare (TTF) potrebbe avere nella lotta contro l’AIDS, la tubercolosi e la malaria, attraverso un sostegno al Fondo Globale.
La società civile chiede ai governi degli 11 Paesi europei che hanno aderito alla TTF di destinare le risorse derivanti da tale tassa alla lotta contro la povertà, i cambiamenti climatici e per lo sviluppo – in particolare istruzione e salute globale. In vista del 1 dicembre, Giornata mondiale della lotta contro l’AIDS, torniamo a chiedere al Presidente del Consiglio Renzi di destinare la TTF al Fondo Globale.

On the occasion of World AIDS Day it would be extremely important for us to concentrate our efforts in a Twitter Storm to the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi – who should have joined the opening of the Conference «Fighting HIV/AIDS ten years after the Dublin Declaration» (Rome, 27-28 November) – to stress the role that the Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) could play in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, supporting the Global Fund.
CSOs call on the 11 EU leaders that joined the FTT taking a political commitment that the tax revenues will be used to tackle poverty at home and around the world and against the climate change. On the occasion of World AIDS Day we are asking again Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to allocate a portion of the tax revenue to the Global Fund.
